GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position requires the performance of traffic safety work at designated school crossing areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the patrol supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The tasks listed below represent most of the time spent working in this position. Supervisor may assign additional tasks within the scope of this classification as necessary.
- Requires constant standing, speaking and hearing; occasional bending / stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 10 lbs. Requires visual acuity with respect to discernment of shapes and colors related to traffic safety. Agility is required at a level that would allow avoidance of an imminent danger from vehicles.
- Is subject to working conditions involving constant extreme weather conditions, very frequent exposure to insects, frequent excessive noise.
- Exposure to moving vehicles requires awareness of surroundings and sounds / noises.
- Performs any other duties or tasks that may be assigned.
