What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Program Instructor I - Pre-School position at City of Apple Valley?
To assist the Recreation Program Instructor II with pre-school recreation programs and activities that include arts & crafts, games, stories, music, playtime, gym time, and theme-based activities and projects pertaining to that class. Classes will stress social interaction, learning, sharing, and activities that promote a positive self-image, self-confidence, and making new friends.
- Assure that all activities are conducted in accordance with the programs goals and objectives.
- Assist the Recreation Program Instructor II in producing a quality, active, and enthusiastic program for all participants.
- Listen to the directions of the Recreation Program Instructor II and follow directions for activities.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all activities.
- Assist in the completion and submission of required reports.
- Perform related duties as required.
- At least 16 - 18 years of age. Dependent on if working all year.
- Good verbal and leadership skills
- Experience working or volunteering with children is preferred.
The individual that is hired will be scheduled for programs, as they are offered, and according to the number of participants registered.
This job posting you will need to chose if you would like to work during the school year, Summer or both.
School Year (Sept. - May) Scheduling is Monday - Friday mornings.
Summer (June - August) Scheduling is usually Tuesday - Thursday mornings with occasional Friday morning, (will hire as a seasonal position if needed)
Other days and times are possible.
Employment offer will be contingent upon successful background investigation.
