What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Puppet Performer position at City of Apple Valley?
To support the Lead Puppet Performer/s, with creating and performing entertaining summer puppet shows.
- Assist the Lead Puppet Performer in the planning, writing, rehearsing of the 20 weekly puppet shows.
- Provide leadership and aide in the implementation and performing of the 20 weekly puppet shows.
- Assist in the motivation of self and participants toward producing a quality active, enthusiastic and rewarding program.
- Assist in supervision and implementation of scheduled special shows.
- Assist with keeping the puppet wagon clean and organized.
- Participate in and attend training sessions and staff meetings.
- Maintain a safe environment for all activities.
- Make recommendations for needed props, supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Is able to provide own transportation.
- Interest and desire to work with the Puppet Wagon Program
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to effectively assist in the planning and performing of puppet shows.
- Experience working with children preferred.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday Friday 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday & Thursday 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Additional hours outside of the puppet wagon position are available with Parks & Recreation activities and events.
Employment offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation.
Rate of pay depending on qualifications.
