What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Recreation Program Assistant position at City of Apple Valley?
- Assist program leader in the planning of weekly activities.
- Provide leadership and aide in the implementation of playground activities.
- Assist in the motivation of self and participants toward producing a quality active, enthusiastic and rewarding program.
- To assist in supervision and implementation of scheduled special events.
- Participate in and attend all staff meetings
- Maintain a safe environment for all activities.
- Make recommendations for needed supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 16 years of age
- Must be able to provide own transportation
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50lbs, and the ability to bend, stand & reach
- Experience, interest and desire to work with youth activities.
- Experience working with children.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to effectively assist in the planning and leadership of activities.
This is a seasonal position. Rate of pay dependent on qualifications.
Schedule: Early June - Mid August , Monday - Friday, mainly 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. On occasion you may need to work until 4:00 p.m.
You will need to work both day and evening hours on July 4th.
