What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Recreation Program Leader position at City of Apple Valley?
- Assure all activities are conducted in accordance with the programs goals and objectives.
- Motivate self and staff toward producing a quality, active enthusiastic and rewarding program.
- Assist in the planning, supervising and general implementation of scheduled special events.
- Participate in and attend all staff meetings.
- Provide leadership and supervision to playground assistants and any volunteers assigned to work with you.
- Maintain a safe environment for all activities.
- Complete and submit required reports, accident and injury forms and attendance records.
- Write ongoing and final evaluations of program offerings.
- Supervise safe and proper use of equipment.
- Perform related duties as required.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50lbs, and the ability to bend, stand & reach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum one year college training in recreation education or related field.
- Experience working in related position or field.
- Experience working with children.
This is a Seasonal position. Rate of pay dependent on qualifications.
Schedule: Early June 2024 - Mid August 2024, Monday, Wednesday Thursday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. You will need to work July 4th.
