What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer - Unity Dance & Acrobatics position at City of Appleton?
The City of Appleton Parks and Recreation Department runs a dance program call Unity Dance & Acrobatics. This program services kids from age 3 to adult ages. Dancers participating in the dance programs will experience the positive impact of a fun, skill-focused classes centered on self-esteem, confidence and professional instruction. The program offers a safe, encouraging family focused environment. Individuals will be assisting dance instructors during the dance class. Tasks will include helping students with dance moves, helping instructor organize and watch over the students during class, helping the instructor by escorting students to the bathroom, and other administrative tasks. To be a volunteer for Unity Dance & Acrobatics, the following requirements are to be considered:
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Must be willing to learn basic spotting skills for our acrobatics classes
- Assist with set-up, clean-up and other duties during class
- Must be able to remain with the kids during assigned volunteer opportunities
- Must be able to provide a safe and positive environment with the kids at all times
- Ability to respond to participants general questions.
