JOB
To lead, oversee, and participate in the work of maintenance crews responsible for services including the cleaning, repair and/or maintenance and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Monitor workers to ensure that safety regulations are followed, warning or disciplining those who violate safety regulations.Communicate with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within department.Identify needs for each assigned project. Estimate time, materials, and equipment required and request materials as needed.Operate, maintain, and repair any water and wastewater heavy equipment and lift station equipment. Excavate drainage ditches, water lines, sewer lines, and mains; backfill jobs upon completion.Direct, assign, participate, and review the work of employees providing maintenance and repairs to water distribution and sanitary sewers.Participate in and review the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.Maintain any production logs or operation records and file reports as needed.Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner. Provide information within area of assignment and resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.Lead, train, and review the work of staff responsible for providing maintenance and repairs.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
