Equipment Operator II - Right of Way Mowing

• Operates a variety of heavy motorized equipment involved in maintenance of City trees and rights of way.
• Operates a farm sized tractor to mow road edges and then in the off season, you will assist the Tree Crews as outlined below. 
• Facilitates tree maintenance and removal as a ground operations specialist using chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, skid steer loaders and/or knuckle boom loaders.
• The operator also drives snow plow / salt spreader trucks during winter storms.
• Transports equipment from location to location.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment, such as checking and filling fluid levels and greasing as necessary.
• Inspects equipment daily and reports need for repairs; assists in repair work.
• Trains less-experienced Motor Equipment Operators in operation of various types of equipment as workload and time permit.
• Performs a variety of manual or semi-skilled labor in conjunction with maintenance and construction projects.
• Performs related work as required.

• $22.46 per hour

• Valid Class A or B North Carolina Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 1 Year of hire.
