Before/After School Childcare Instructor
Position Responsibilities:
The City of Athens is currently hiring Day Care Instructors for the before and after school program. This program will be in the mornings Monday – Friday 7:00am – 8:45am and in the afternoons Monday – Friday 3:15pm – 5:30pm. Day Care Instructors will be responsible for the care of the children enrolled in the before and after school program and for planning and implementing engaging learning activities.
Responsibilities: Actively supervise children in the before and after school program. Plan activities and implement as needed. Supervise quiet time, free play activities, and playground time. Sign in and out participants in the before and after school program. Be actively responsible and engaged in classroom management and behavior. Clean used areas and toys at the completion of each day. Assist other child care programs such as preschool and toddler classes as needed.
The before and after school program follows the same closure schedule as the Athens City School District.
Additional Requirements/Qualifications:
Education/Experience: High School Graduate. Experience working with children preferred. Experience with grades k-6 preferred. Excellent communication skills, personable, and energetic with parents and children in the programs.
Qualified candidate must have current CPR/First Aid Certification prior to hire. Additional training in communicable disease and child abuse prevention is also required and provided. Candidate must satisfactorily complete a BCI and FBI background check.
