General Description and Classification Standards
Manages the secure and cost-effective transportation options for the traveling public 24 hours per day 7 days per week, 365 days per year while establishing, building, and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external customers. This is an experienced managerial level charged with responsibility of managing a team of operational professionals.
Supervision Received
This position reports directly to the airport manager of Parking & Ground Transportation Operations and shall require most of the job functions to be completed independently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned).
- Manages all aspects airport parking and ground transportation operation activities, including facilities, fleet and equipment as directed by the parking and ground transportation airport assistant director and airport manager.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities and oversight of daily contractor activity of the parking and ground transportation operators.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; Handles employee concerns and problems; Provides counseling and the completion of employee performance appraisals.
- Attend meetings to discuss matters related to the operation of the division.
- Prepares and reviews various reports and logs regarding operational activities.
- Serves as a point of contact for parking and ground transportation construction projects with Airport Planning and Development as required.
- Assists with new transportation ideas and designs.
- Plans and coordinates emergency management and irregular operations contingency planning.
- Monitors revenue and expenditure throughout the fiscal year.
- Coordinates with ATL Enforcement Division to act on violations by companies and/or drivers connected to companies e.g., cancellation of insurance, solicitation, or other compliance issues. Actions may be in the form of written warning of adverse action or recommendation for suspension or revocation of permit.
- Ensures direct reports conduct operational audits of contractors, contractor support during IRROP events, and operational oversight especially during peak activity during the shift.

Skilled in operating a basic computer/laptop and software; excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills; Skilled in identifying operating issues and developing solutions. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work effectively as a team player.
