Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule program work, set priorities for managing programs, plan and coordinate program activities
- Create metrics to measure impact; collect, maintain and interpret relevant data
- Secure any supplies, goods, or services necessary to ensure program effectiveness
- Coordinate marketing and outreach to the community
- Maintain program budget and prepare financial statements
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Community Engagement Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Community Outreach Manager to create and implement engagement strategies that effectively promote high school and college educational initiatives.
- Conduct research to identify community needs and opportunities, ensuring that youth programs align with broader educational and career readiness goals.
- Program Management and Oversight:
- Oversee the High School Innovation Programs, ensuring that students receive innovative and impactful educational experiences.
- Coordinate the Youth Apprenticeship Program, coordinating with local schools and DOA Business Units to secure meaningful educational and vocational opportunities for high school students.
- Lead the High School Aviation Career Tours, working closely with aviation industry partners to provide students with insight into aviation careers and align the curriculum with Georgia State Standards of Excellence.
- Administer the Summer Youth Employment Program, ensuring it offers valuable work experience and development opportunities for high school students.
- Partner to facilitate the College Innovation Programs, providing students with opportunities to explore innovative career options within the aviation industry.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Implement data collection methods to assess the effectiveness of youth engagement and educational initiatives, particularly the High School Innovation Programs, Youth Apprenticeship Program, High School Aviation Career Tours, Summer Youth Employment Program, and supporting College Innovation Programs.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Program Management Officer Sr., detailing program achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Program Advocacy:
- Advocate for the Youth Programs & Educational Initiatives by developing targeted communication strategies to engage high school and college students.
- Develop and deliver presentations to enhance awareness and understanding of youth programs, tailored to diverse audiences, including students, parents, educators, and industry partners.
- Event Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and execute community events, workshops, and activities that promote participation in youth programs.
- Manage event logistics, including outreach materials, communications, and participant engagement, ensuring successful outcomes for each event.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, urban planning, human services, or related field (equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree as an exception).
- Four (4) years of administrative and/or organizational development experience, preferably in the public sector.
