General Description
The Office of Watershed Protection is responsible for the development and implementation of the environmental
compliance and inspection programs including natural resource management, water resources protection, water quality
management, monitoring, and analysis, industrial pretreatment, stormwater compliance, permit and regulatory
compliance, and regional water resource planning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities for the Division of Environmental and Construction Enforcement
Responsibilities: These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.
May perform other duties as assigned.
The City of Atlanta’s Environmental and Construction Enforcement Division protects watersheds by enforcing
compliance with State laws and City codes related to erosion and sedimentation control.
Interns will assist the Division in inspecting land disturbance activities and other activities associated with related
enforcement of applicable City ordinances, rules and regulations.

- Plan reading
- Construction practices
- Attention to detail
- Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the United States of America
- Must be a sophomore or above college student at application submission
- Minimum overall GPA 3.0
- Must attach College Transcript – Unofficial IS acceptable (NO screenshots)
- Currently pursuing a bachelors, associates or above from an accredited college or university.
- Must have at least one remaining semester at the start of the internship

- Required Major: Environmental or Civil Engineering
Salary : $17 - $18
