Park Custodian

Perform Park Monitor duties (similar to a Park Ranger) |
Perform cabin check-in's and check-out's with renters |
Removal of trash |
Using backpack or handheld blower equipment |
Picking litter |
Cleaning up spills |
Servicing pavilions, gazebos, and other structures |
Moving or stacking firewood |
Servicing comfort stations |
Mopping and sweeping |
Driving city vehicles or equipment |
Servicing BBQ grills |
Moving picnic tables, chairs or tables |
Locking and unlocking doors, gates or buildings |
Providing great customer service |
Other duties as assigned |
Schedule: The Parks Custodian is a year-round permanent part-time (PPT) position limited to 29 hours per week. The hours and times for this position vary greatly throughout the year depending on seasonal conditions, volume of rentals and changing daylight hours. Shift lengths can vary from 2 hours to perform cabin check-in's, 4 hour shifts when performing Park Monitor shifts, to 7 hour shift such as a weekend parks trash run. Parks are open from 7am until dusk and the ideal candidate will have the ability to work a variety of shifts. Our parks are busiest in the afternoons, evenings, Friday night's, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
- Possess a valid motor vehicle license
- Availability that includes a variety of shifts, days, and weekends
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, walk or stand for long periods of time and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Salary: $15.00 per hour
