What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELECTRICIAN position at City of Auburn?
This position is represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 117, and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement is effective 1/1/23 - 12/31/25.
September 1, 2023: 3% increase
January 1, 2024: 3% increase
January 1, 2025: 3% increase
The staff hired into this position will be brought in at Step 1 of the 6-step scale, which is $5.679.38/month (~$32.77/hour).
This position performs technical, journey-level work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in City facilities. The list below is not meant to be all inclusive, and the full job description can be viewed here.
*Inspects electrical installations for compliance with the appropriate Codes and upgrades existing installations to meet Code.
*Maintains and performs minor repairs of motor generator sets.
*Installs circuits for telemetry, motors, and lights; verifies capacity and safety of existing circuits and panels, and upgrades them to meet changing requirements.
*Maintains electrical systems throughout all City facilities.
*Installs telephone lines and computer terminal interties within City facilities.
*Performs load analysis of all electrical systems.
Graduation from high school or equivalent AND four years of journey-level commercial/industrial electrical maintenance and repair experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess and retain valid state driver's license without impending loss at time of appointment.
Registration as a Journey-Level Electrician with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries is required.
