What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Dance Instructor - Temporary position at City of Auburn?
Come dance with us! Plan and teach preschool and youth dance classes for the spring and fall for up to 12 kids at a time. Classes currently include Hip-Hop and Cheer, with the opportunity to expand offerings throughout the year. Must possess creativity and provide a safe and creative class environment with age-appropriate activities. Looking for an instructor with a love for teaching dance and working with youth.
Hours of Work
Variable hour-primarily weeknights between 4-8pm.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are required.
- Ability to interact courteously with the public.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
- Ability to plan and lead youth dance classes including cheer and hip-hop to youth ages 3-11.
- Must have one (1) year of dance experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.
- Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Abuse Information Act.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
