DESCRIPTION
Provides information and performs routine clerical support and customer service duties within the guidelines of supervisory instructions and County and department policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Performs basic office duties, such as copying, filing, faxing, typing standard documents, preparing, sorting, and distributing mail and running basic or standard reports.
- Serves as the liaison between the assigned department and Human Resources; collaborates with the department’s Senior Human Resources Analyst to generate all departmental personnel action forms, assists with evaluating departmental job descriptions; schedules interviews, distributes and receives routine information; conveys information among division/department personnel; and circulates documentation related to human resources programs and events to appropriate departments.
- Performs data entry functions by keying data into computer system; enters, retrieves, reviews, or modifies data in computer database; scans documents into computer; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; indexes documents; and develops databases and computerized reports.
- Assists the general public by performing customer service functions according to area of assignment greets visitors, answers phone calls and emails, and assists customers, provides information regarding Consolidated Government services, programs, policies, and procedures; refers issues to appropriate department and/or staff member; and takes and/or relays messages as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: One (1) year work experience in customer service or clerical support.
Preferred Experience: One (1) year work experience in data entry.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of basic office procedures and procedures for registering participants for athletic programs.
- Familiarity with department policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating general office equipment.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
