- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field, plus one (1) year of relevant work experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

Notes to Applicants
The position will handle duties in support of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) including on site community education, engagement and outreach, management of infrastructure installation, operations and maintenance, and data collection.
Immediate Projects:
Immediate Projects:
- Manage and support TDM community outreach and engagement in coordination with the Safe Routes to School program: Engage and perform encouragement events for school communities and neighborhoods. Set up weekly community engagement events to include leading bike bus and walk events, tabling, distribution of promotion materials, and interaction with stakeholders. Participate and lead Focus Group studies and other community survey projects.
- Support the TDM and SRTS teams: Provide weekly on-site review and data collection of existing multimodal conditions at school campuses. Collect data for community use of bike, bus and walking modes: ie. bike rack counts, bike and walk trip participation, bus ridership, etc. Provide on-site outreach with PTA members, neighborhood association members, parents, and residents. Deliver bike/walk program information and educate residents on ways to increase multimodal mode use.
- Manage and support TDM program installations including bike and ped counter operations and maintenance.
- Assist with TDM fieldwork: Assist with pilot program fieldwork to include equipment audits, field surveys, and minor equipment cleaning and repair. Perform research, attend meetings, and communicate with vendors as needed to ensure projects are completed under the direction of a project or program manager.
- Provide and coordinate data collection.
Priority Goals:
- Successfully manage complex tasks in support of community encouragement and outreach.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to develop partnerships for the successful deployment of TDM programming.
- Develop, execute and report on a detailed operation and maintenance program.
- Provide detailed data collection and recommendations to project management.
- Work in collaboration with other TDM and SRTS staff on multimodal programming.
Travel:
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
- Experience providing assistance to develop work plans and ensure established project deadlines and related tasks are completed as assigned.
- Experience preparing materials and equipment for routine assignments including logistic support for community led activities, installation of batteries and other small repair tasks according to device specifications, and experience using basic hand tools in an appropriate safe manner.
- Experience communicating and interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including working, training, and supervising volunteers; planning and developing programs and activities and improve coordination of existing services.
- Experience with field studies, maintaining logs and providing assistance with data collection and reporting.
- Experience assisting in resolution of project issues including any potential risks to team members by providing supporting documentation including policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to travel to more than one work location.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

- Assists in planning stage of projects, including the coordination of existing bonds and future bond projects.
- Assists in planning, scheduling, or coordination of project activities to meet deadlines.
- Provides assistance in creation of a communication plan to field staff, including Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
- Creates and maintains project progress monitoring data to track each project.
- Coordinates status updates for project related matters including providing updates to internal and external customers.
