Job Summary : The Maintenance Specialist II is responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance, construction, and repair duties of assigned City equipment, City property to include streets, coverts and drainage systems, facilities and buildings. The Maintenance Specialist II may be assigned to assist with site restoration, solid waste, streets and drainage, or water / wastewater. The Maintenance Specialist II may be assigned a Maintenance Specialist I for assistance. Assignments may be performed in all weather conditions.
Minimum Job Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two years of hands on / outside work experience
- A valid driver’s license but may require Class B CDL depending on assignment.

The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and / or pull greater than 50 pounds, and may require infrequent lifting of greater than 100 pounds. This position is exposed to extreme elements including extreme heat and / or cold, wet and / or humid conditions, noise intensity level, moving mechanical parts / hazards, dirt / dust, and odors. Constant use of protective personnel equipment including but not limited to footwear, eyewear, and use of reflective clothing is required. Will work on-call rotation and in an emergency event.
