Job Summary :
The Utilities Tech II is responsible for performing general, emergency, and preventive maintenance, as well as construction and repair of City water, wastewater, and meters. This role also involves operating heavy machinery and providing assistance with community events and disaster preparedness efforts.
Minimum Job Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in utility maintenance.
- A valid Texas driver’s license.
- Preferred Requirements :
A valid Class B commercial driver’s license.

Physical Demands / Work Environment : The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and / or pull greater than 50 pounds, and may require infrequent lifting of greater than 100 pounds. This position is exposed to extreme elements including extreme heat and / or cold, wet and / or humid conditions, noise intensity level, moving mechanical parts / hazards, dirt / dust, and odors. Ability to work in confined spaces and trenches. Constant use of protective personnel equipment including but not limited to footwear, eyewear, and use of reflective clothing is required. Will work on-call rotation and in an emergency event.
