Seasonal Golf Maintenance Worker

DEPARTMENT: PARKS & RECREATION

SUPERVISOR: GOLF COURSE SUPT.

LOCATION: GOLF MAINTENANCE FACILITY

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Seasonal Golf Maintenance Worker is responsible for assisting the Golf staff in the upkeep and maintenance of the Ballwin Golf Course.

• Grass cutting, watering, weeding, trimming, etc.
• Assistance with in-house construction and repair projects as needed.
• Removing weeds.
• Cleaning of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Sod removal and installation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Working knowledge of construction, maintenance, and landscaping practices and methods.
• Working knowledge and ability in the use of manual and power tools used for grounds maintenance, and construction projects (weed-eater, brush chipper and assorted hand tools.)
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods indoors and outdoors, under a variety of weather conditions, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate mowers, tractors, and trucks.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with supervisors and other employees, as well as independently as necessary.
• Ability to understand and work within safety guidelines.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Some experience preferred.

Up to 40 hours per week. Some weekends required.
