Security Officer Position

About the Role
As a Security Officer at MedStar Health, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our healthcare community. This position combines vigilant security oversight with professional customer service to support our mission of exceptional patient care.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to ensure safety and security
- Respond promptly to security calls and emergency situations
- Monitor and report potential security risks affecting patients, staff, visitors, or facilities
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures
- Provide mentorship and training to junior security staff members
- Serve in charge role as needed
- Maintain required documentation and incident reports
- Work collaboratively with healthcare staff and law enforcement when necessary
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Experience requirements:
- Officer I: 1-2 years of security experience
- Officer II: 5-7 years of security experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Physical ability to patrol premises and respond to emergencies
