SALARY RANGE: $64,427.00 - $110,756.00 Annually
BACKGROUND CHECK
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
PROBATION
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Baltimore City Health Department is currently seeking a detail oriented driven individual to fill the role of Contract Unit Supervisor within the Department of Finance. This is a full-time position with responsibilities that include performing well at high pace environment. Work will not include supervisory responsibilities. This is a grant funded position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures that memos and service and consultant contracts to the Board of Estimates are done correctly
- Advises agency program staff on issues of protocol and procedure, the interpretation of legal issues, regulations, grant requirements, waivers and related matters regarding service and consultant contracts, grant awards, modifications and adjustments to contracts.
- Supervise the coordination and tracking of all BCHD’s contracts.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation, train and mentor staff
- Use Analytical and quantitative aptitude and proficiency in computer applications and systems to re-engineer processes as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Four years of experience in performing accounting work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to prepare correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government officials at all levels and staff.
- Ability to train staff in service and consultant contract processing practices and procedures.
- Ability to attend to details.
- Contract processing experience preferred.
