SALARY RANGE: $50,797.00 - $61,402.00 ANNUALLY
BACKGROUND CHECK
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
PROBATION
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 6-month probation.
ELIGIBILITY
Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION
Applicants’ education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.
CLASS DEFINITION
A Printing Planner and Estimator II reviews offset printing requests from City government agencies, estimates cost and copy and expedites the completion of printing jobs. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office where there is no exposure to environmental hazards. Work requires minimal physical exertion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have three years of experience in printing planning, estimating, layout and imposition Including experience in typesetting, bindery operations, offset press and letterpress printing and negative and camera work.
OR
(NOTES) EQUIVALENCIES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the applications of offset press, letterpress, camera and bindery equipment to printing layout and composition.
- Ability to perform printing project layout, planning and cost estimating work.
- Ability to coordinate the scheduling and completion of a large number of printing projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain files and records.
