The Baltimore City Mayor’s Office is seeking an energetic, civic-minded individual to serve as Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Community and Economic Development. About the Role
The Special Assistant will act as a trusted liaison between the Deputy Mayor and a wide range of stakeholders, including city agencies, community organizations, and private sector leaders. You’ll work closely with the Assistant Deputy Mayors for Community and Economic Development and the Mayor’s Senior Advisor for Arts and Culture, providing a multidisciplinary perspective on key city priorities. While the role includes essential administrative tasks such as managing calendars, preparing documents, and coordinating meetings, it also provides a springboard for personal growth. You’ll have opportunities to:
- Attend meetings with key players in neighborhoods, real estate, and business development.
- Assist with research and analytics to inform decision-making on transformative city projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Deputy Mayor, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Assist in coordinating city-wide initiatives, including housing, business development, and workforce programs.
- Research and analyze topics related to urban planning, community engagement, and economic development.
- Prepare speeches, reports, and presentations for the Deputy Mayor’s engagements.
- Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a point of contact for the Deputy Mayor’s office.
- Organize and attend community events, helping to elevate the voices of Baltimore’s residents.
