Summary Of Position
The Office of Baltimore City Councilwoman Danielle McCray (D-District 2) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for its Chief of Staff position. The Chief of Staff reports to the Councilwoman and will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills to assist with the daily operation of the office, advance the overall legislative, communication, and constituent service strategy, and oversee the administrative functions of the office.

Essential Functions
- Manage and support team members and provide assistance with development and coaching.
- Enhance professional knowledge through various means (e.g., attending seminars and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional organizations).
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad spectrum of private and public entities such as City agencies and departments, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Attend various City Council, legislative, and community-at-large engagements.
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including the constituent services system, efficiently and effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

- Proficient knowledge of the inner workings of local government and public administrations; high[1]level understanding of the complexities and unpredictability of day-to-day operations.
- Ability to proactively identify inefficiencies and problem areas and recommend appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Ability to present daily briefings, reports, and other recommendations to the Councilwoman and team members.
- Ability to supervise team members; provide optimal plans to achieve short- and long-term tasks; provide guidance and support to ensure team members are working efficiently with the necessary tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate and listen in various spaces to ensure transparency and understanding amongst all parties; proficient in oral and written communications; strong analytical skills; proficient in social media, content creation, and driving user engagement.
