SALARY RANGE: $53,695-$64,769
HOURS: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; some evenings and weekends
BACKGROUND CHECK
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
Summary Of Position
The Director of Constituency Affairs serves as the primary point of contact for residents, community organizations, and stakeholders in Baltimore City Council District 8. This role is responsible for managing constituent requests, coordinating with city agencies to resolve issues, and ensuring timely communication between the community and the Councilmember’s office. The Director also supports scheduling, administrative tasks, and monitoring key issues affecting the district.
In addition to day-to-day constituency services, this role involves attending community meetings and events, representing the Councilmember or Chief of Staff as needed, contributing to the District 8 monthly newsletter, and assisting with special projects and policy research. The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and committed to serving the residents of District 8.

Essential Functions
PRIMARY
- Support Councilmember & Chief of Staff (CoS) with scheduling meetings
- Handle all constituency requests and refer to appropriate agencies for resolution
- Monitor office telephone for voice messages
- Monitor trending issues in the district and flag for Councilmember/CoS
- Administrative duties as assigned
- Attend community meetings & District 8 events
- Attend meetings on behalf of Councilmember and/or CoS as needed
- Assist in the drafting of District 8 Monthly newsletter
- Assist Councilmember/CoS on various projects/policy research/etc.
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: High School Diploma
License, Registration And Certificate Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Preferably in customer service/constituency services/ etc.
- Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends when events are scheduled
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent time management & multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be OK with flexible scheduling for emergency responses
- Must have a car or reliable transportation for community meetings, events, canvasses, etc.
- Knowledge of District 8 communities/District 8 resident
- Experience/knowledge with city agencies & customer service
- Experience using Google Drive & Microsoft Office
- Docs, spreadsheets, google forms, etc.
- Experience using Adobe, Canva, Mailchimp, & other document creation programs
