SALARY RANGE: $64,427.00 - $110,756.00 Annually
BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 1-year probation.
Summary Of Position
The Office of Administrative Hearings Unit (OAH) facilitates and coordinates agency administrative hearings including, suspension hearings and disciplinary hearings. Its specific duties are far-reaching, including preparing Internal Affairs cases for review by the Disciplinary Review Committee (DRC) and coordination with the Administrative Charging Committee (ACC), serving investigative files on accused members, summonsing witnesses, coordinating the selection of hearing board members, and coordinating hearing logistics such as security, administration of rules of procedure, and operation of recording equipment. OAH is also responsible for ensuring that any disciplinary action taken against BPD employees – including suspension, loss off leave, and training - is carried out in a timely manner and properly documented with the Human Resources Section and Public Integrity Bureau.
Essential Functions
EDUCATION: Minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Proven experience in office administration and record-keeping. Demonstrated ability to accurately track and maintain detailed records and lists, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
