BACKGROUND CHECK:

PROBATION:
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 6-month probation.
ELIGIBILITY:
Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION:
Applicants’ education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.
CLASS DESCRIPTION:
A WWW Systems Analyst develops systems designs, specifications and procedures. The work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may be required to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal. The work requires minimal physical exertion.
SELECTION PROCESS

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: Have a bachelor's degree in electronic data processing or computer science from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Have four years of experience in preparing programs for computers including two years in systems design.
OR
EQUIVALENCIES: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge of the interrelationship of systems analysis, computer programming and data processing operations.
- Ability to design complex systems consisting of a wide variety of programs, procedures and forms.
- Ability to analyze the cost of systems installation and maintenance and to make recommendations.
- Ability to prepare systems forms, documents, files, specifications, instructions and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and computer users.
- Ability to advise and provide direction and guidance to others on systems design and computer programming.
