**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Accountant/Procurement Specialist. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the City's success by carrying out a variety of professional tasks to include, accounting; procurement management, technical reviews, and general ledger functions.
**Duties:**
- Develop and oversee best procurement methods necessary for preparation of complex, informal, best value bids, and other procurement options
- Coordinate all competitive bidding and procurement documents (specifications) for purchases, including highly complex bid documents involving technical items and equipment
- Responsible for purchase order system. Approve requisition and assign purchase orders in accordance with department regulations
- Perform contract administration, including liaison between suppliers and departments, compliance with contract terms and conditions, compliance with grant requirements, negotiation of contract amendments, extensions and change orders. Analyze cost and price data from vendors. Perform contract audits when required
- Review and reconcile cash and accounting transactions, and other financial activities. Post journal entries and exercise independent judgment and correct errors within City policy guidelines
**Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a High School Diploma with equivalent years of experience
- Proven experience in municipal finance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $25.78 - $34.88 per hour
