Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Responsible for the maintenance of public building facility; sweeps, mops, waxes floors, vacuums carpets, dusts and polishes furniture, cleans windows, walls, and water fountains; restrooms including mirrors, commodes, lavatories and elevator; assists in moving and arranging furniture; lifts and moves large supply cartons; empties trash receptacles and ashtrays; stocks supplies and maintains supply room in organized manner and reports necessary reorders to supervisor.

Working Conditions
Duties performed indoors but requires stooping, bending, reaching, and handling of semi-heavy cleaning equipment; exposure to mechanical, toxic waste, electrical, fume/odor, dust/mites and/or chemical hazards; possible skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Must be available to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday thru Friday; extended hours when necessary.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
Knowledge: Knowledge of the materials, techniques and methods used in building maintenance; knowledge of safe efficient use of equipment and materials used to maintain buildings.
Skills/Abilities: Skilled in the operation and maintenance of custodial equipment such as, but not limited to floor scrubber, shampoo machine, floor waxer, vacuum etc.; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and the public; ability to move furniture, replace light bulbs, lifts supply cartons and make minor repairs.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently cleans, walks, stands, stoops, squats, pushes, pulls, lifts, drags and carries objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; infrequently drives, runs, climbs, crawls, sorts, kneels, sits, writes by hand, carries, holds, lifts, objects weighing up to 25 lbs. or drags, pulls or pushes objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
Education/Experience: Completion of ten (10) school grades or equivalent supplemented with one (1) year janitorial experience.

Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
