Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Supervise lifeguards and set work schedules. Safeguard and regulate the conduct of all patrons at swimming pool facilities. Supervises large groups in the water, including children and adults. Ensures patron safety by enforcing pool rules and regulations; administers basic first aid as needed. Carries out emergency operating procedures and notifies proper authorities. Directs and demonstrates proper and safe use of facility equipment; insures policy and proper procedures are followed at all times. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Other Job Functions: Works front desk on rotation basis as needed; performs other duties as required. Skills/Abilities: Supervises employees and citizens at a municipal pool facility administers basic first aid as needed. Ability to multitask; schedule and supervise large groups. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Physical Requirements: Ability to supervise lifeguards and patrons at a municipal pool facility. Constantly sees and hears; frequently stands, stoops and writes by hand, files, walks, operates PC and twists body; infrequently operates a calculator, cleans, kneels, runs, squats, sits, climbs, carries, drags, holds, pushes, pulls and lifts objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Education/Experience: Skilled in enforcing pool rules and regulations. Ability to establish and maintain relations with fellow employees, city officials and the general public. Current CPR card. Experience in supervising large groups in a public setting. Graduation from high school or equivalent. Must have two (2) years experience supervising youth activities as a teacher, coach or activities director.
