Essential Job Functions: Responsible for coordinating and managing Beaumont Animal Care’s volunteer program; assists with updating and managing Beaumont Animal Care’s Facebook page and other social media pages; assists with updating and managing Beaumont Animal Care’s webpage, Pet-finder and Adopt-A-Pet; provides excellent customer service to all potential adopters; works with local, regional, and state rescue groups to ensure that animals get adopted; logs multiple information into the ShelterLUV software system; talks to and interacts with the general public; answers emails and telephone calls; works closely with the Adoption Coordinator.
Other Job Functions: May be required to clean and attend kennels; may be required to make presentations to social, civic, and educational groups; Performs other duties as required. Works inside and outside and in various temperatures; must be comfortable working with and around dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds; must be able to Tuesday through Saturday with occasional overtime; this position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations.
Knowledge: Must have knowledge of marketing and advertising principles and concepts; must be able to effectively use social media; must have knowledge of modern office equipment, including a windows-based pc, copier, fax machine, and multi-line phone; some knowledge of the methods and procedures used in caring for animals.
Skills/Abilities: Must have strong people skills; must have strong verbal and written communication skills; must have strong typing and data entry skills; must be a team player; must be able to follow directions; must be able to learn and use new skills.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently walks, climbs, crawls, bends, twists body, drives, squats, stoops, lifts, carries, pulls, pushes and drags objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required, marketing experience or classes helpful; experience working in a public animal shelter or veterinary clinic preferred; experience as an animal foster or animal shelter volunteer preferred. Experience with digital cameras and digital photography preferred.
Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
