Truck Driver/Laborer Position at the Public Works Department
The City of Belfast is currently accepting applications for a highly skilled and physically fit individual to fill the role of Truck Driver/Laborer at our Public Works Department.
This full-time position requires applicants to be at least 18 years of age, possess a Maine Class B motor vehicle operator's license, and have a flexible schedule.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of vehicles, performing manual labor tasks, and working closely with other team members to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform physical labor tasks, such as loading and unloading materials
- Assist other team members with tasks and projects
- Maintain accurate records and reports
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation package for this position includes a competitive hourly rate, which increases annually based on performance evaluations and union contract agreements. Additionally, the successful candidate will receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
Working Hours:
The standard working hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime opportunities available during peak periods (May-November). The successful candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call duties, including holidays and weekends.
