Equipment Operation
- Operate various heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, jetter, sweepers) for street repairs, debris collection, concrete, and asphalt work.
- Drive and operate specialized equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, dump trucks, and front-end loaders.
- Perform street repairs by operating heavy equipment such as backhoes, tree trimmers, and rollers.
- Patch potholes, repair driveways, and maintain street signs.
- Collect and transport refuse, recyclables, and tree limbs using collection trucks and heavy equipment.
- Operate a collection truck, pick up refuse, recyclables, and limbs from residential curbs.
- Serve as a crew leader when required, providing on-the-job training to lower-level personnel.
- Provide guidance to employees, assist field crews, and direct the work of other crew members.
- Change oil and filters on department vehicles and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Ensure proper and safe operation of specialized equipment and perform safety checks daily.
