- Repairs, remodels, and maintains city park sites by completing specialized plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work; repairing and installing locks, motors, and pumps; troubleshooting HVAC equipment.
- Inspect and make repairs to Playgrounds and other playground assets.
- Advises the Structural Supervisor or Operations Manager for needed repairs, concerns, and resource needs.
- Use of proper methods and products for graffiti removal
- Installing light controls and fixtures
- Repairing structures such as docks, and foot bridges.
- Completes quality control assignments related to structural assignments and inspections. Repairs office furniture such as chairs and cabinets.
- Inspect and maintain drinking fountains restroom buildings.
- Installs, fabricates, and maintains park assets and amenities such as signs, benches, fencing and bollards.
- Door hardware installation and repair.
- Inspects and repairs playground equipment and assigned park assets.
- Inspects and repairs assigned park assets.
- Interacts with CMMS (Maximo) and payroll computer systems
Supervision Received and Exercise:
- Employees are expected to perform with little or no supervision while on the job site.
- Lead summer, temp workers and/or Structural Maintenance Specialist I when assigned.
- Close coordination with other Structural Maintenance Specialist II's.
- Works with Contractors on onsite asset repairs.
- Experience in a safe and efficient manner: routers, electric jackhammers, pickup trucks, boom trucks, man lifts, boat and motor, backhoe, shovels, wheelbarrows, pressure washers, full range of specialized plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tools, dump truck, and testing equipment.
- Finish Carpentry and Cabinetry skills.
- Leadership skills and Job management.
- A demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning of diversity, equity & inclusion, and a commitment to implement these principles in your work.
- Knowledge of safety requirements, building requirements, codes, and ordinances.
- Ability to envision design intent of facilities and build from sketches.
- Demonstrated proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical repair.
- Knowledge of ADA requirements.
- Computer skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, and Maximo
- Valid, current driver's license
- CPSI certification (certified playground safety inspector) or obtain within 12 months. (Required)
- Being placed in the 24hr on call rotation after one year of service.
