The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity in the Parks and Recreation Division of the Public Works Department as an Equipment Operator-Forestry. This position is responsible to perform, as an individual or as member of a team, the provision of grounds maintenance within city parks, green spaces, and/or city-owned property and facilities. Under supervision, the Equipment Operator performs skilled manual labor necessary to develop, maintain, or protect the urban tree canopy through such activities as transporting seedlings; tree trimming/removal, stump removal, combating insects, pests, and diseases harmful to plant life; and building structures to control water, erosion, and leaching of soil. This position typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. and Fridays from 6:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
