What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Golf Assistant position at City of Beloit?
Spring/Summer Seasonal: March - October (variable hours; approximately 40 hours/week)The Golf Assistant is responsible for assisting with daily operations of the Krueger Haskell Golf Course including the setup and coordination of special events, processing transactions, assisting with inventory and clubhouse sales, and providing exceptional customer service to our members and guests.
• Greet and assist members and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Process transactions for green fees, merchandise, rentals, and other purchases using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit card, and other payment transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee check-ins, tee time reservations, and inquiries in person, over the phone, or online.
• Assist with golf cart rentals, returns, and report basic cart maintenance needs to Golf & Horticulture Supervisor.
• Assist with administrative duties, including setup and coordination of tournaments, special events, and private functions.
• Maintain accurate records of tee times, memberships, and guest visits using club management software.
• Support management with daily operational tasks and special projects as needed.
• Assist with general oversight and training of seasonal clubhouse staff.
• Provide assistance to guests, organizers, and vendors during events and ensure event spaces are properly arranged and cleaned before and after use.
• Ensure city ordinances, course and clubhouse policies and procedures are followed.
• Assist with inventory tracking, ordering supplies, appropriate pricing, and stocking for the pro shop and clubhouse.
• Ensure the clubhouse, pro shop, and common areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Provide information on course conditions, clubhouse facilities, and upcoming events.
• Report any hazards, vandalism, or necessary repairs needed to the course or clubhouse to supervisor.• Must be 18 years of age upon employment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in Golf Management or a related field preferred
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of employment
• Obtain FEMA IS-100 and FEMA IS-700 certifications within 3 months of employment
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.
Wage: $14.00/hour
