GENERAL PURPOSE:
Performs a variety of duties assisting with the planning, implementation and execution of recreational sports activities and concessions for the Belton Parks and Recreation Department. This position is part-time and will require evenings and weekends.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assists with a variety of recreation programs, activities, concessions operations, classes and special events/tournaments.
- Concessions work including food preparation, cash register, cleaning, and customer service.
- Ensures the cleanliness and safety of Markey and Memorial parks for league games and tournaments.
- Opens and readies facilities for use and secures facilities upon completion of use.
- Participates in staff training and meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Experience handling money and handling food preferred.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the rules of volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, and flag football.
Education and Experience:
- Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.
- Must possess valid driver’s license or photo identification.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Employees may be asked to lift/move items between 25 – 50 pounds for tasks such as (but not limited to) lifting concessions materials, stocking shelves and coolers, bending, twisting, and turning.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee occasionally works in highs, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic chemicals.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
- This position may require work in all weather conditions, nights, weekends, and holidays. The department is willing to work around high school events and sports schedules.
