Recreation is looking for camp staff for the 2025 summer season!
- May through August
- Monday to Friday
- Daytime and early Evening hours
Referral Incentive – A seasonal employee who refers a new seasonal employee will receive $100 bonus on their final paycheck. Referral verification is required within one week of employee's start date and both employees must be employed for the entirety of the scheduled season to be eligible.
Commitment Incentive – A seasonal employee who works all sessions of camp will receive $50 bonus.
The Assistant Day Camp Director is responsible for the fun and safe delivery of the Day Camp programs to all participants.- Supervision Received
- Works under the daily work direction of the Recreation Coordinator and the general supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director.

- Provide adequate supervision of participants at all times.
- Organize activities (games, crafts, etc.) on a daily basis.
- Maintain excellent customer relations with parents, children, special guests, etc.
- Ensure the program is safe and enjoyable for all participants.
- Assist with checking in and out at both camps.
- Interact with the participants during scheduled activities including lunch.
- Oversee the implementation of the program and/or manage campers, transportation and supplies
- Keep organized inventory of first aid supplies, craft and games supplies. Re stock and purchase when needed.
- Plan and purchase weekly snacks for both camp sites.
- Oversee the transportation to and from camp sites or field trips, this may include driving the camp van.
- Maintain appropriate behavior at all times while on duty.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to report all problems, concerns, criticisms, and compliments to the Recreation Coordinator
- Work as a team with other staff during program and special events. May need to substitute for camp counselors when needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Recreation Coordinator or the Parks and Recreation Director.
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience and coursework in education, recreation or related field or combination of experience and education.
- Previous experience working with school-age children in such areas as camps, day care, scouts, sports, and/or babysitting.
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Familiarity with Parks and Recreation Programs desirable.
- The ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforces safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
- Must be able to swim.
- Special Requirements
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Tools & Equipment Used
- Required sports and safety equipment.
