SUMMARY
Inspects, oversees and coordinates the construction of water distribution and wastewater collection for the City, ensuring that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications by performing the following duties. The inspector is a liaison between all parties involved with utility construction.

Technology Knowledge: Tyler Enterprise ERP, Executime, BambooHR, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, workorder management system, esri products, Bluebeam, Trakit, and Digital Collaboration software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following; Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned
Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to all Bentonville Water and Sewer specifications, Arkansas Department of Health and Ten State standards.
Witnesses and records quality control testing to ensure construction meets with City specifications.
Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and approves installation.
Interprets construction plans or design drawings for contractors and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
Operate valves and manipulate the system to facilitate flushing requirements associated with Bacteriological sampling.
Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and prepares progress reports within a computer based software system
Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from construction plans or design drawings and reports such changes for incorporation on “As Built” construction plans or design drawings.
Works with contractors and engineers to problem solve conflicts that are not addressed prior to construction.
Perform daily site inspections of their jobs and provide updates to the technical team.
Safely navigate the city vehicle through construction sites.
Provide expertise of onsite conditions and existing infrastructure to the technical services team for use during Pre-construction meetings and plan development.
Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
