The mission of Human Resources is to be a collaborative and strategic partner, using fair and equitable practices to attract, hire, develop, support and retain a highly-qualified workforce, and to mitigate liability through effective loss prevention programs. As a Division of Human Resources, Risk Management administers Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Employee Leaves, and Benefits. The Division is responsible for insurance administration and liability claims management, safety and injury/illness prevention and employment-related ADA/interactive processes, and partners with the City Attorney's office in coordinating Citywide litigation.
What We're Looking For
The Program Operations Specialist will support industrial and nonindustrial leaves management by reviewing, auditing and tracking time entry and support third party, subrogation and workers compensation claims set up and tracking. A primary duty will be to maintain the City's certificates of insurance process which is managed within PINS Advantage automated insurance tracking software. In this capacity, the position will be responsible for reviewing vendor insurance documents for minimum requirements, corresponding with vendors for necessary documents and deadlines, and tracking and updating certificate status. The Program Operations Specialist will also support Workers Compensation by reviewing and auditing time entry against employee leave accruals, and General Liability by reviewing records for potential subrogation and/or 3rd party claims. Additionally, this position will support staff with claims research and tracking, document review and gathering, and interdepartmental correspondence. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of payroll processing, leaves, and claims tracking/management with a strong attention to detail and should be comfortable handling repetitive, process-oriented work. Work Schedule: Position will be assigned to work 30 hours a week during operational hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday. Some flexibility with schedule assignment. Telework option available after initial training period.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a local government agency

- Knowledge of payroll process and functions

Disaster Service Workers: All City of Beverly Hills employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Major Duties
Under general supervision, helps coordinate city programs or projects and provides support to city departments, divisions, functions or special projects; researches and makes recommendation on projects; acts as a liaison and program source to individuals, city and community groups. Performs specific and miscellaneous duties as assigned and does related work as required.
