As a Division of Human Resources, Risk Management administers Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Employee Leaves, and Benefits. The Division is responsible for insurance administration and liability claims management, safety and injury/illness prevention and employment-related ADA/interactive processes, and partners with the City Attorney's office in coordinating Citywide litigation.
What We're Looking For
The City of Beverly Hills is seeking a Risk Management and Benefits Analyst to join our team. The Risk Management and Benefits Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing the administration of benefits and leave of absence programs. This position involves managing various federal, state, and City leave programs, including FMLA, CFRA, PDA, long-term disability, and ADA reasonable accommodation. The analyst administers all benefit plans and assists employees with enrollment, changes and termination of all Benefit Programs including health, dental, vision, COBRA, life insurance, flexible spending, and dependent care programs. They are responsible for communicating with employees and their supervisors, monitoring the return-to-work process, and drafting or recommending updates to city leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as city policies. Key duties also include managing relationships with employee benefit and leave of absence vendors, handling benefits and payroll changes related to hiring, life events, separations, and open enrollment, as well as performing benefits billing, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate HRIS system updates for payroll deductions and cafeteria cash contributions. Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field. A Master's degree is desirable.
- Three years of increasingly responsible professional/analytical experience in risk management, human resources, benefits administration or closely related function.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Possession of a valid Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Registered Professional Adjuster (RPA) and/or Certified Safety Professional Designation (CSP) are desirable.
- Other related certifications in Human Resources, Benefits Administration and/or Risk Management are desirable.
Salary : $91,838 - $114,097
