Essential (primary)
Responsible for general maintenance of the lift/booster station buildings.
Performs landscaping around field assets that fall outside City of Bloomington boundary limits and those within when necessary.
Acts as a secondary set of eyes and safety person for our Large Meter Testing personnel during confined space entry.
Completes work and records all machinery and reports necessary for confined space entry by the Large Meter Tester.
Job Requirements
Prior experience in landscaping including mowing, trimming, and brush removal, preferred.
Ability to navigate confined space entry.
Knowledge of safety precautions for working in or around department vehicles and equipment.
Ability to work outside and carry equipment.
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and drive City owned vehicles with trailers..
Difficulty of Work and Personal Work Relationship
Performs duties which require frequent bending, lifting, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling of equipment and tools. Incumbent is required to remain standing and working for long periods of time and is exposed to jolting, bumping, and vibrations when operating equipment. Moderate physical effort is frequently required for regular periods of time.
Performs the majority of duties out of doors, in varying weather conditions, and is periodically exposed to excessive noise, dirt, dust, and vehicle and equipment fumes. Safety precautions must be used at all times to avoid injury to self and others. Some work will be performed in an office setting.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including co-workers, City and other government officials, community groups, and the general public.
