KID CITY SUMMER CAMP
Seasonal Full Time – STAFF ASSISTANT (HEAD COUNSELOR) (1)
DESCRIPTION:
Oversees the daily operation of a large summer camp for children in Grades K-7. Coordinates the implementation of daily/weekly programs, supervises counselors, acts as a liaison to parents and other childcare workers, and assists Kid City staff.
EDUCATION:
Required: At least two years of college with course work in recreation, education, youth development, therapeutic recreation and/or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in camp counseling/administration, recreational programming, and/or programming for elementary aged children.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment. A high level of energy, strong organizational skills, and ability to work with people (staff and participants). It is important for this position to have a calm demeanor and good problem-solving skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
Current CPR and First Aid certifications. (Incumbent has until the start of training in May to present the above paperwork.)
HOURS:
A six-eight hour shift between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm Monday through Friday during the camp season (June – Early August). Approximately 30 hours of mandatory training to begin in May.
SALARY:
$17.96 per hour
