Notice is hereby given that the City of Blue Ash, Ohio, will administer a written exam for the position of Police Patrol Officer. This exam will establish an eligibility list for future vacancies within the full-time Police Patrol Officer classification.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At the time of appointment, each applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; be a U.S. citizen; possess a valid driver's license; have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; and have no felony convictions. Individuals possessing an associate's degree or higher are preferred.APPLICATION DATES AND PROCEDURES: Applicants MUST apply through the City of Blue Ash website on or before Friday, March 14, 2025. Applicants are required to complete the (1) Frontline National exam, (2) the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ), and (3) the Public Safety Job Suitability Assessment (PSSA) through the National Testing Network (NTN) no later than Friday, March 14, 2025 by 11:59 PM (EDT). Go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com to register and take the exam. EXCEPTIONS: Applicants that have taken the Frontline National Exam through National Testing Network within the last year and your scores are still valid, may contact www.nationaltestingnetwork.com and request that your scores be utilized for this test. You must make this request no later than Friday, March 14, 2025. Contact National Testing Network’s Customer Support line at 866-563-3882 with questions or concerns. You will still be required to complete an employment application with the City of Blue Ash. WRITTEN EXAMINATION & ELIGIBILITY LIST: The Written Examination will constitute 100% of the total score. Only those applicants achieving a passing score will be placed on the Eligibility List. Tied scores will be ranked by the date and time candidates submitted an employment application on-line through the City of Blue Ash website. The eligible list may be in effect for a minimum of one year and up to two years. Note: Placement on an eligible list does not guarantee employment. EXTRA CREDIT: Extra credit will be given in the form of additional points added to the final passing grade, calculated by taking: 1/2% of the total grade attainable for each of the first ten (10) years (5 points total) of FULL-TIME Police Patrol Officer service in the State of Ohio, or a total of five (5) points for those candidates providing a DD-214 form confirming an honorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces.No applicant will receive more than a total of five (5) additional points. No type of credit will be awarded unless the applicant has achieved a passing score on the written exam.SUBMISSION OF EXTRA CREDIT DOCUMENTATION: A DD-214 of honorable discharge form MUST be uploaded and attached to the on-line employment application no later than Friday, March 14, 2025 in order to receive credit for honorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces.EMPLOYMENT OFFER: Subsequent to an offer of employment, and prior to beginning employment, candidates will be subject to a background investigation, physical agility test, polygraph exam, fitness for duty psychological exam, and pre-employment pension physical with drug screening.
