GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs installation, programming and maintenance of video & audio equipment for public safety purposes. Work is performed under regular supervision. Position reports to the Public Safety Video & Security Supervisor.

- Installs, maintains, repairs and adjusts a variety of electronic equipment including video cameras, cables, recorders and related equipment
- Tests installed equipment and performs basic programming such as adding card readers, cameras and alarm points to any system
- Installs and performs maintenance of public safety in-car, body worn and CCTV camera systems
- Performs a variety of tests to determine whether product functions as specified; determine cause of product failure; analyze test results
- Climbs poles, ladders and other structures with proper equipment (safety belt, safety strap and climbers)
- Researches information regarding parts, materials, equipment, tools and supplies; provides specifications to management for purchase
- Prepare reports and recommendations
- Work with outside vendors as needed for equipment installation; document installation information and product support materials in Microsoft Sharepoint
- Troubleshoot network problems and situations as it relates to in-car, body worn and CCTV camera and security installations
- Coordinates work with IT and various City department schedules
- Assures compliance with all applicable security and safety protocols
- System/component level troubleshooting and working knowledge of electrical theory
- Demonstrate basic mathematical skills and computer skills

- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's or Technical degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the installation, operation, and maintenance of camera systems, computer equipment, networks, and cabling.
- Experience with local or state government preferred.
- Must have or be able to complete and maintain Level 3 CJIS certification.
- Possession of valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period.
