- Performs the full range of duties (with appropriate managerial review), including hiring, evaluating, promoting, and assigning duties; correcting inappropriate actions or behavior through communication and coaching, initiating discipline or termination as needed; and overseeing employees or a group.
- Creates, manages and helps execute communication plans; develops materials and programs that leverage appropriate communication and outreach tactics and mediums to best inform and receive feedback from target audiences. Provides excellent project management and client services to the Public Works Department. Leads and manages communication and outreach projects from planning to execution and provides timely and proactive deliverables and updates. Project manages the development of all communication materials including working closely with graphic designers, vendors and agencies in producing various pieces in digital web and social, print, video, experiential, etc. Copywrites and edits communications that inform and engage target audiences. Creates content which includes handouts, presentations, video scripts/outlines, press releases, emails/e-newsletter content, web site copy and social media posts.
- Oversees the creation of all marketing collateral, events spaces and materials for the Public Works department by working closely with communications coordinators, graphic designers and outside consultants in various forms of media including digital, print, video, experiential (events, public hearings etc.) Directs the copywriting and editing of all major department community engagement related collateral, including marketing collateral, press releases, media announcements, emails, web site updates and public hearing announcements.
- Ensures all digital outreach activities for the department including web site updates, social media posts, online advertising and other future mobile communication tools and programs by working collaboratively with other team members. Oversees the planning of and helps facilitate community outreach activities and events for the department using a variety of public information gathering techniques including focus groups, public hearings, digital outreach and surveys.

Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, or related field and five years of experience in community/public relations, marketing/advertising or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Advanced knowledge of communications strategies.
Functional knowledge of graphic design to guide and project-manage creative development work with in-house and external designers.
Understanding of web and digital content management and communications best practices.
Exceptional project management skills.
Agency and vendor management proficiency.

Salary : $61,000 - $72,500
