The City of Boise Parks and Recreation playcamp program has weekly themed games and activities, quality STEAM projects, weekly field trips and pool days, camp visits from community partners, and team-building activities.
All Summer Playcamp Supervisor:

Prior experience working with children
Knowledge of: programs and activities appropriate for youth age 5-12; and supervisory principles and practices.
Ability to: demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills; exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion; to interact with coworkers and the public in a friendly and professional manner; assist youth in swimming pools on swim days; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Two years of supervisory experience and two years working with youth as an instructor, coach, teacher’s aide or nanny.
Certified in CPR and First Aid.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is always lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee is always pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds and occasionally pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate and occasionally loud. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include outdoor weather conditions and in wet and humid conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Work includes protected exposure to bodily fluids. Work is performed in a park environment with exposure to insects and pets.
All Summer Playcamp Supervisor:
- Works 40 hours per week up to 10 weeks over the summer.
- Works with elementary youth and staff at outdoor Summer Playcamps located in several parks in Boise.
- Guides a team of staff members through a day of scheduled activities, prepares weekly schedules in advance, monitors and mentors the park Playcamp team, leads fun and creative games, engages with youth and coworkers in a variety of enriching activities, helps youth build new friendships and ensures the safety and well-being of summer camp youth.
- This position is open to individuals who are 19 and older.
- This position is designated as At-Will.
