The Custodian, on a part-time basis, is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within City of Borger facilities to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors. Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, this position performs a variety of cleaning tasks according to established standards and schedules. - Cleaning:Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
- Trash Removal:Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins, replace liners as needed, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Restroom Maintenance:Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, and replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Floor Care:Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and buff floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and materials to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
- Window Cleaning:Clean interior and exterior windows, glass doors, and partitions using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
- Surface Cleaning:Wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures with disinfectant cleaners to remove dirt, stains, and germs.
- Specialized Cleaning:Perform specialized cleaning tasks as assigned, such as carpet shampooing, upholstery cleaning, and high-traffic area maintenance.

- Teamwork:Collaborate with fellow custodial staff and other city employees to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations, assisting with special projects or tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant custodial experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials, as well as safety regulations and procedures related to custodial operations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and carry heavy objects, and stand or walk for extended periods.
