What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Auditor/Sales Tax Department position at City of Bossier City?
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Conducts audits in conjunction with Sales and Use tax to determine amount of taxes paid and tax liability, if any.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: College degree in related field with at least (12) semester hours in Accounting; four (4) years experience in Accounting or two (2) in Fiscal Auditing; or a suitable combination of college and experience. Must be computer literate, preferably Windows 7, and be able to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access proficiently.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Experience in examining and analyzing accounting records such as journals, ledgers, invoices, bank statements, depreciation schedules, production records, requisitions, purchase orders and other documents. Ability to interpret/make decisions; speed and accuracy in making mathematical determinations; handle delicate/controversial negotiations and still maintaining professional communication in both oral and written form.
